David Sawyer is Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Legacy Knight and leads the firm’s Houston office. Prior to Legacy Knight, he was Managing Director of a Houston-based $1.5B alternative investment firm and multifamily office where he served on the executive and investment committees. David previously spent almost a decade leading complex legal, regulatory, and strategic initiatives in the political arena. He served as a senior aide on a major presidential campaign and in the United States Senate, and also held leadership roles with several other state and national political organizations. David holds a B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
