Jim Derow is a Managing Director on Prospect’s investment team and has worked in real estate and finance since 1992. He is responsible for originating, executing, and managing investments across Prospect’s real estate platform.

Prior to joining Prospect, Jim was the co-Founder & President of Blossom Properties which served as the direct investment vehicle for a private equity real estate fund whose primary focus was acquiring and repositioning multifamily assets. Prior to launching Blossom Properties, Jim served as Chief Operating Officer of Pepper Pike Capital Partners, a value-add multifamily owner/operator. Earlier in his career, Jim spent eight years as a Managing Director at Square Mile Capital Management, a private equity real estate investment firm. Jim has acquired, operated, renovated, and repositioned over $5 billion of real estate investments including 20,000 multifamily units located throughout the Midwestern and Southeastern United States.

Jim received his BA from Harvard University and his MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
