Joel Peña is responsible for DoubleLine Capital’s business in US Offshore, Canada, Latin America & The Caribbean. He manages institutional and intermediary client relationships for the firm. Before this, Joel was managing director at Robeco for Latin America, Canada and US Offshore. His focus was on positioning the firm amongst the leading investment fund managers in the Latin American market and to continue the company’s growth within the sector. Prior to joining Robeco in 2014, he was a senior vice president and account manager at PIMCO ,  managing institutional client servicing for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Prior to that, he was a senior vice president of private banking for Bank Hapoalim, and financial advisor for BBVA Bancomer. He has 18 years of investment experience and holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Mexico and an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business. He has the CAIA designation and is a CFA charter-holder. He also completed a finance program at the University of Alberta in Canada and an international business program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. He joined DoubleLine in 2017.
