Lisa Middleton is a member of the Palm Springs City Council. In December 2021, she became the third transgender person in US History to be the Mayor of an American city.

Since April 2019, Lisa has served on the Board of Administration of CalPERS. On the CalPERS Board Lisa Chairs the Finance & Administration Committee, is Vice-Chair of the Risk & Audit Committee and serves on the Investment Committee.

Her other board service includes the League of California Cities, Equality California Institute, The Candidiate School at Yale University, Riverside County Transportation Commission, Southern California Railroad Authority (Metrolink) and the Sunline Transit Agency.

Ms. Middleton served for 36 years with the State Compensation Insurance Fund, retiring as the Senior Vice President of Internal Affairs.

Lisa is a graduate of UCLA and USC, receiving her Master’s from USC’s School of Public Administration.
